Lean manufacturing assumes that every employee is involved in business optimization, while the company is as consumer-oriented as possible. The starting point of lean manufacturing is value to the consumer. The heart of lean manufacturing is the process of eliminating losses, that is, everything that consumes resources but does not create value.
For example, the consumer absolutely does not need the finished product or its parts to be in stock. Nevertheless, in a traditional management system, warehouse costs, as well as all costs associated with alterations, defects, etc., are placed as a burden to the consumer.
According to the concept of lean manufacturing, anything that does not add value to the consumer is classified as a loss and must either be reduced or eliminated.
